Choose the workbook for your child’s grade level. Each printable includes four weekly lessons, family practices, optional faith connections, and a September celebration page.

04 — Our Story

From survival to service

Created from a story of courage.

DandeLion LLC was founded by Nicole Henderson to turn lived experience into a source of hope, growth, and meaningful action.

Like the dandelion, we believe people and families can take root again after life’s hardest seasons. Like the lioness, we believe gentleness and strength can live side by side.

Where Courage Blooms brings together education, wellness tools, youth development, products, events, and community connection. The Wild Flower Foundation is our developing nonprofit pathway, envisioned to expand access to resources, assistance, partnerships, and charitable support.

“Your past may shape your story, but it does not get to write your ending.”
05 — Our Organizational Path

Mission before structure

Could beginning as a nonprofit help courage reach further?

For the charitable side of this vision, a nonprofit structure could create a strong foundation for community trust, shared leadership, grants, sponsorships, and broader access.

The right choice is not simply the structure that sounds most meaningful. It is the one DandeLion can govern responsibly, sustain financially, and use to serve people well for years to come.

01

Why it could fit

A nonprofit could support free trauma-awareness resources, sponsored curriculum access, youth and family programs, community events, practical assistance, and partnerships built around public benefit.

02

What it would require

Beginning well means forming an independent board, adopting governing documents, keeping careful financial records, protecting charitable funds, filing required reports, and staying focused on the approved mission.

03

What could remain separate

Paid downloads, merchandise, memberships, speaking, and commercial products may be clearer within DandeLion LLC, while a separate nonprofit pathway focuses on charitable access, assistance, grants, and community programs.

Potential nonprofit benefits

More ways to turn compassion
into lasting access.

After proper formation and federal recognition, a nonprofit pathway could help the mission grow beyond what product sales alone can provide.

01

Eligible charitable giving

IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) status can allow eligible donors to make tax-deductible charitable contributions, creating another way for individuals and organizations to support the mission.

02

Grant opportunities

Many foundations, corporate-giving programs, and public funding opportunities are designed specifically for qualified nonprofit organizations.

03

Sponsored access

Charitable support could help provide free or reduced-cost curricula, workshops, resources, care items, and program participation for families facing barriers.

04

Community trust

A defined charitable mission, public reporting, an independent board, and transparent stewardship can give partners and supporters greater confidence in how resources are used.

05

Shared leadership

A board can bring financial, legal, educational, wellness, youth-development, fundraising, and community experience into the decisions that guide the mission.

06

Volunteer engagement

A nonprofit can create meaningful, organized opportunities for mentors, facilitators, professionals, faith communities, businesses, and residents to serve.

07

Stronger partnerships

Schools, healthcare providers, civic organizations, employers, and other nonprofits may have clearer pathways to collaborate on community-benefit programs.

08

Mission continuity

A nonprofit exists to advance its charitable purpose rather than benefit an individual owner, helping the work continue through responsible governance and future leadership.

Important to remember

Nonprofit status is not automatic funding, and “nonprofit” does not mean an organization cannot earn revenue or pay reasonable staff compensation. It means income and assets must support the charitable mission, with stronger governance, reporting, and compliance responsibilities.

A thoughtful starting point

One mission can have two clearly defined pathways.

DandeLion LLC can continue building sustainable products and educational experiences while the Wild Flower Foundation develops the governance, funding plan, and safeguards needed for charitable work. Keeping the roles clear protects supporters, participants, and the integrity of both organizations.

Where we are today

DandeLion LLC is the current operating business. The Wild Flower Foundation is a developing nonprofit concept and is not being represented as an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3). Unless clearly stated otherwise, payments and sponsorships are not tax-deductible charitable contributions.
